Looking at overall running costs, both models reveal some interesting differences in everyday economy.

Mercedes EQE is marginally cheaper – starting at 57,600 £ , while the BMW i5 costs 60,800 £ . That’s a price difference of around 3,183 £.

In terms of energy consumption, the BMW i5 is very slightly more efficient: consuming 14.7 kWh/100km compared to 15.8 kWh/100km for the Mercedes EQE. That’s a difference of about 1.1 kWh/100km.

As for electric range, the Mercedes EQE offers only slightly more range – reaching up to 691 km, about 64 km more than the BMW i5.

Luxurious and comfortable — though headroom is a touch tight if you’re over 1.92 m.
As a business user I do miss a coat hook.
In winter months the range drops to under 480 km.
