Very capable and well-built car. Good on the road, nicely quiet up to 100 km/h. Praise for the 1.5 TSI engine — very dynamic and very economical. Over a distance of 36,000 km the average fuel consumption is 6.2 liters per 100 km. Half on high-speed roads, half in the city. Driven with a heavy foot.

I've been driving a second-hand Touareg R-Line 2019 3.0 TFSI for 2 years — original price CHF 128,000, fully loaded. 2025: replacement engine by AMAG. Ride comfort perfect; infotainment adequate; a bit thirsty; prestige perfect (understated).

If a designer had suggested such ugly dashboards a few years ago, he would have been fired immediately!
Today everyone thinks it’s great when you place cutting boards vertically on the hard‑plastic dashboards and even pay a lot of money for it. I’m probably already too old to understand this!!

The Smart attracts with its power and charging. I ended up choosing the ID7, though. The decision was influenced by it being European and by my three years' experience with the ID4. The ID4 has been an excellent vehicle.
