Across Europe, a new generation of founders is emerging: real businesses built with SEO and AI - without investors or large teams.
Across Europe, more entrepreneurs are building digital businesses on their own. Instead of raising capital or hiring large teams early, many are using lean structures, search traffic, automation and AI to compete with much larger companies.
One example of this shift is DriveDuel.
DriveDuel emerged after the insolvency of a car comparison platform where Austrian developer Achim Sedelmaier had previously worked. Rather than letting the project disappear, he took over what remained and rebuilt it independently.
Today, DriveDuel operates across 11 European markets, is available in 10 languages and reaches more than 500,000 monthly users through organic traffic.
The platform helps consumers compare new cars based on real-life priorities such as price, space, efficiency, practicality and ownership costs — rather than relying on generic “test winner” rankings.
Much of this growth was enabled by proprietary systems for SEO, multilingual scaling, automation and AI-supported workflows, allowing a solo founder to build a business with pan-European reach.
DriveDuel is part of a broader shift in entrepreneurship: smaller, independent operators using modern tools to build sustainable digital platforms without traditional startup structures.
