Price and efficiency are often the first things buyers look at. Here it becomes clear which model has the long-term edge – whether at the pump, the plug, or in purchase price.

Mercedes GLE is marginally cheaper – starting at 78,900 £ , while the Lexus RC costs 82,300 £ . That’s a price difference of around 3,416 £.

Fuel consumption also shows a difference: the Mercedes GLE uses 3.2 L/100km and is substantially more efficient than the Lexus RC with 11.8 L/100km. The difference is about 8.6 L/100km.

Mercedes is completely superior to Volvo, which feels plasticky and noisy with poor fit and finish, a poor tactile feel in the controls and a lack of buttons.
