Looking at overall running costs, both models reveal some interesting differences in everyday economy.

Land Rover Discovery is a bit cheaper – starting at 67,400 £ , while the Mercedes GLE costs 78,900 £ . That’s a price difference of around 11,541 £.

Fuel consumption also shows a difference: the Mercedes GLE uses 3.2 L/100km and is considerably more efficient than the Land Rover Discovery with 8.4 L/100km. The difference is about 5.2 L/100km.

Mercedes is completely superior to Volvo, which feels plasticky and noisy with poor fit and finish, a poor tactile feel in the controls and a lack of buttons.
