When it comes to price and running costs, the biggest differences usually appear. This is often where you see which car fits your budget better in the long run.

Lucid Air is only slightly cheaper – starting at 72,900 £ , while the Mercedes GLE costs 78,900 £ . That’s a price difference of around 6,055 £.

As for electric range, the Lucid Air offers clearly more range – reaching up to 882 km, about 778 km more than the Mercedes GLE.

Power, torque and acceleration are the classic benchmarks for car enthusiasts – and here, some clear differences start to show.

Mercedes is completely superior to Volvo, which feels plasticky and noisy with poor fit and finish, a poor tactile feel in the controls and a lack of buttons.

The review contains an error: the price of the Lucid Air being evaluated corresponds to a version that accelerates from 0–100 km/h in around 4.7 seconds, which is slower than the MG Cyberster. The sub-2-second acceleration figures refer to the Lucid Air Sapphire, which is the most expensive version with a much higher price.
