Looking at overall running costs, both models reveal some interesting differences in everyday economy.
Mercedes GLS has a somewhat advantage in terms of price – it starts at 96100 £, while the BMW XM costs 114700 £. That’s a price difference of around 18565 £.
Fuel consumption also shows a difference: BMW XM manages with 1.40 L and is therefore convincingly more efficient than the Mercedes GLS with 7.80 L. The difference is about 6.40 L per 100 km.
