Costs and Efficiency:

Looking at overall running costs, both models reveal some interesting differences in everyday economy.

Mercedes B Class is clearly cheaper – starting at 33,100 £ , while the Volvo V90 costs 62,300 £ . That’s a price difference of around 29,176 £.

Fuel consumption also shows a difference: the Volvo V90 uses 0.8 L/100km and is significantly more efficient than the Mercedes B Class with 5.1 L/100km. The difference is about 4.3 L/100km.

My wife and I have been driving a Mercedes W247 200d for seven years now, with 93,000 km on the clock. The car is very comfortable even on long trips and economical. At the last service the pads of the electric parking brake were replaced; otherwise no repairs. We love this car.

The Volvo V90 is the heir to the traditional "manor Volvo" and a concept in itself in terms of space and driving feel. My choice would be the V90, because it's a good dog car. I'd prefer the AWD Cross Country, as it would give me ground clearance for country roads and a higher driving position.
