Costs and Efficiency:

Price and efficiency are key factors when choosing a car – and this is often where the real differences emerge.

MG MGS5 EV is considerably cheaper – starting at 32,600 £ , while the Mercedes EQE costs 57,600 £ . That’s a price difference of around 25,026 £.

In terms of energy consumption, the MG MGS5 EV is only slightly more efficient: consuming 15.5 kWh/100km compared to 15.8 kWh/100km for the Mercedes EQE. That’s a difference of about 0.3 kWh/100km.

As for electric range, the Mercedes EQE offers noticeably more range – reaching up to 691 km, about 211 km more than the MG MGS5 EV.

Luxurious and comfortable — though headroom is a touch tight if you’re over 1.92 m.
As a business user I do miss a coat hook.
In winter months the range drops to under 480 km.

We have recently moved from an ID3 to and MGS5. For me, the S5 feels a decent upgrade. The build quality really surprised me, especially in the cabin. the drive is also reassuringly solid, and in my opinion better than the ID3. the MGS5 is slightly quicker, but not too much that it is noticeable, and also more practical due to it's size.
Gone are my days of thinking MG was now just a cheap Chinese alternative. Go and test drive one, you'll see!
