Looking at overall running costs, both models reveal some interesting differences in everyday economy.

Volvo V90 is significantly cheaper – starting at 62,300 £ , while the Mercedes GLS costs 92,700 £ . That’s a price difference of around 30,357 £.

Fuel consumption also shows a difference: the Volvo V90 uses 0.8 L/100km and is considerably more efficient than the Mercedes GLS with 7.9 L/100km. The difference is about 7.1 L/100km.

The Volvo V90 is the heir to the traditional "manor Volvo" and a concept in itself in terms of space and driving feel. My choice would be the V90, because it's a good dog car. I'd prefer the AWD Cross Country, as it would give me ground clearance for country roads and a higher driving position.
