Price and efficiency are often the first things buyers look at. Here it becomes clear which model has the long-term edge – whether at the pump, the plug, or in purchase price.

MG MG3 is substantially cheaper – starting at 15,400 £ , while the Nissan X-Trail costs 34,200 £ . That’s a price difference of around 18,737 £.

Fuel consumption also shows a difference: the MG MG3 uses 4.4 L/100km and is visibly more efficient than the Nissan X-Trail with 5.7 L/100km. The difference is about 1.3 L/100km.

I drive an Outback every day; I had an X‑Trail as a courtesy car while mine was in for service. First impression after a few kilometres of driving — the suspension is a disaster. You get the feeling this car picks up every single imperfection in the tarmac. Also, at idle the engine causes noticeably more vibrations in the cabin than the Subaru.
