Looking at overall running costs, both models reveal some interesting differences in everyday economy.

Subaru Forester is clearly cheaper – starting at 35,100 £ , while the Lexus RC costs 82,300 £ . That’s a price difference of around 47,194 £.

Fuel consumption also shows a difference: the Subaru Forester uses 8.1 L/100km and is clearly more efficient than the Lexus RC with 11.8 L/100km. The difference is about 3.7 L/100km.

Engine and Performance:

Under the bonnet, it becomes clear which model is tuned for sportiness and which one takes the lead when you hit the accelerator.

Unfortunately Citroën isn't sold here in the Americas, otherwise I would have chosen the C5.X!

It's indeed much more expensive, but it drives brilliantly. I have the automatic — fantastic. It's a bit noisy for such an expensive car, and servicing at a Subaru dealer isn't cheap. It's certainly not economical.

On the other hand, very little breaks and it will never leave you stranded. And that space... 500 litres more is really about a 40% increase.

Lexus RC

The Lexus RC cuts a dramatic figure on the road with its bold grille and sculpted coupe silhouette, blending Japanese refinement with a dash of show-off flair. Inside it favors comfort and clever detailing over racetrack theatrics, so if you want a luxurious, dependable coupe that rewards everyday driving with poise and a grin, the RC is hard to ignore.
