Passat

Costs and Efficiency:

Price and efficiency are key factors when choosing a car – and this is often where the real differences emerge.

VW Passat is very slightly cheaper – starting at 36,500 £ , while the Lynk & Co 01 costs 36,900 £ . That’s a price difference of around 390 £.

Fuel consumption also shows a difference: the Lynk & Co 01 uses 0.9 L/100km and is clearly more efficient than the VW Passat with 1.2 L/100km. The difference is about 0.3 L/100km.

As for electric range, the VW Passat offers substantially more range – reaching up to 135 km, about 60 km more than the Lynk & Co 01.

I have the 01 from 2022 and have had it for 2 years. It's been a lovely car to own and drive. I return from Spain to the UK twice a year in it and it's a pleasure to travel in. The only grip has been the infotainment system which has been buggy and slow. I had the software updated a few weeks ago at the Volvo garage as the over the air option does not work. This has made the infotainment system acceptable now.

It takes a while to get used to the seats for me as the base is quite hard but now I feel they are very confortable. I charge it everyday in the carpark and I use it 90% of the time on electric mode. It does the 70km on a full charge as stated and in petrol mode I'm getting around 16km a litre or 75 a gallon, the engine is only used on motorways.

Aftersales service is patchy here in Spain. My nearest dealer is about a 40 min drive from here, it's not like owning a Renault where there's a dealer everywhere, I've only had to take it there twice, once turned out to be a stone in a brake caliper causing a squeak and the other for the software update.

I highly recommend these cars!
