Costs and Efficiency:

When it comes to price and running costs, the biggest differences usually appear. This is often where you see which car fits your budget better in the long run.

MG MGS5 EV is noticeably cheaper – starting at 32,600 £ , while the XPeng P7 costs 42,500 £ . That’s a price difference of around 9,952 £.

In terms of energy consumption, the MG MGS5 EV is only slightly more efficient: consuming 15.5 kWh/100km compared to 16.8 kWh/100km for the XPeng P7. That’s a difference of about 1.3 kWh/100km.

As for electric range, the XPeng P7 offers somewhat more range – reaching up to 576 km, about 96 km more than the MG MGS5 EV.

We have recently moved from an ID3 to and MGS5. For me, the S5 feels a decent upgrade. The build quality really surprised me, especially in the cabin. the drive is also reassuringly solid, and in my opinion better than the ID3. the MGS5 is slightly quicker, but not too much that it is noticeable, and also more practical due to it's size.
Gone are my days of thinking MG was now just a cheap Chinese alternative. Go and test drive one, you'll see!
