Price and efficiency are often the first things buyers look at. Here it becomes clear which model has the long-term edge – whether at the pump, the plug, or in purchase price.

BYD Atto 2 is barely cheaper – starting at 30,800 £ , while the Lynk & Co 02 costs 30,900 £ . That’s a price difference of around 4 £.

In terms of energy consumption, the BYD Atto 2 is barely more efficient: consuming 15.8 kWh/100km compared to 17.1 kWh/100km for the Lynk & Co 02. That’s a difference of about 1.3 kWh/100km.

It's a very well-finished and aesthetically attractive car, very high-performing, but one in which the suspension doesn't match the performance delivered by its engine. In the Core version it has fairly restrained fuel consumption.

I've done 6,000 km and I'm delighted. I haven't tried other EVs, but I'm thrilled with the BYD Atto 2. It's true I don't go on long trips — I do everything in the city and nearby, about 100 to 150 km a day — and honestly it's been great in every way. When I hit 300,000 km I'll tell you again. Haha
