Price and efficiency are key factors when choosing a car – and this is often where the real differences emerge.

MG ZS is clearly cheaper – starting at 18,000 £ , while the BYD Atto 2 costs 30,800 £ . That’s a price difference of around 12,857 £.

Engine and Performance:

Under the bonnet, it becomes clear which model is tuned for sportiness and which one takes the lead when you hit the accelerator.

When it comes to engine power, the BYD Atto 2 offers only slightly more power – delivering 212 HP compared to 197 HP. That’s roughly 15 HP more horsepower.

With all the features it offers at that price, the MG has no competition. A BMW X1 of similar dimensions with a few extra upgrades costs more than twice as much, and considering that 40% of MG’s spare parts come from Germany (Bosch, Continental, etc.), I’d go for the MG ZS Hybrid without a second thought.

I've done 6,000 km and I'm delighted. I haven't tried other EVs, but I'm thrilled with the BYD Atto 2. It's true I don't go on long trips — I do everything in the city and nearby, about 100 to 150 km a day — and honestly it's been great in every way. When I hit 300,000 km I'll tell you again. Haha
