Looking at overall running costs, both models reveal some interesting differences in everyday economy.

smart #5 is substantially cheaper – starting at 39,300 £ , while the Tesla Model X costs 98,600 £ . That’s a price difference of around 59,220 £.

In terms of energy consumption, the Tesla Model X is very slightly more efficient: consuming 18.3 kWh/100km compared to 18.4 kWh/100km for the smart #5. That’s a difference of about 0.1 kWh/100km.

As for electric range, the Tesla Model X offers barely more range – reaching up to 649 km, about 59 km more than the smart #5.
