Price and efficiency are often the first things buyers look at. Here it becomes clear which model has the long-term edge – whether at the pump, the plug, or in purchase price.

Honda CR-V is only slightly cheaper – starting at 40,200 £ , while the BMW 3 Series Touring costs 41,100 £ . That’s a price difference of around 857 £.

Fuel consumption also shows a difference: the BMW 3 Series Touring uses 2.5 L/100km and is very slightly more efficient than the Honda CR-V with 2.6 L/100km. The difference is about 0.1 L/100km.

The fuel economy you report in your test is, of course, nonsense. This is a plug-in, and so you're being fooled. Of course a CR‑V isn't more economical than an HR‑V. Think!

My 2026 CR‑V hybrid has had no problems. It’s quieter than my previous 2019 RAV4 hybrid. The exterior finish feels more solid across the whole vehicle. It’s less affected by crosswinds. I prefer the CR‑V’s driving. Its only drawback is that it uses just a little more fuel than the RAV4.

Very comfortable, lots of space, combined fuel consumption about 6 l, reliable, simple to operate, without unnecessary gadgets, very well made, easy to drive, a car for the city and long trips.
