Price and efficiency are often the first things buyers look at. Here it becomes clear which model has the long-term edge – whether at the pump, the plug, or in purchase price.

XPeng G9 is significantly cheaper – starting at 51,100 £ , while the BMW X7 costs 91,300 £ . That’s a price difference of around 40,200 £.

Engine and Performance:

Under the bonnet, it becomes clear which model is tuned for sportiness and which one takes the lead when you hit the accelerator.

When it comes to engine power, the XPeng G9 offers barely more power – delivering 575 HP compared to 530 HP. That’s roughly 45 HP more horsepower.

When accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h, the XPeng G9 is a bit quicker – completing the sprint in 4.2 s, while the BMW X7 takes 4.7 s. That’s about 0.5 s quicker.

I drove the Mercedes EQS and the Xpeng G9 Performance. The Xpeng is an ultra-modern, voice-controlled car with excellent build quality, a superior sound system and air suspension. I now understand why VW invested €700 million to buy a 5% stake in Xpeng. VW cars in China now run on Xpeng technology.

I've seen and driven both cars. The XPeng 9 makes more of an impression. The Zeekr 7x's interior color is limited to black — a real shame! For a nicer contrast you'll have to have it wrapped in a different color. But that's a matter of taste! Otherwise the cars are comparable, noting that the XPeng is a proper SUV while the Zeekr 7x is a crossover.
