When it comes to price and running costs, the biggest differences usually appear. This is often where you see which car fits your budget better in the long run.

BYD Atto 2 is very slightly cheaper – starting at 27,400 £ , while the Honda HR-V costs 29,700 £ . That’s a price difference of around 2,322 £.

Power, torque and acceleration are the classic benchmarks for car enthusiasts – and here, some clear differences start to show.

When it comes to engine power, the BYD Atto 2 offers visibly more power – delivering 212 HP compared to 131 HP. That’s roughly 81 HP more horsepower.

Very nice car with plenty of interior space. Reliable engineering and, thank goodness, most functions are still operated with switches or knobs. It sits superbly on the road, although the standard Michelin Primacy 4 tyres produce a somewhat loud rolling noise. As a day-registered car in Elegance trim for €26,980 with zero kilometres, a real bargain. Honda and Toyota are absolutely equal in build quality and reliability. You can buy it without hesitation.

I've done 6,000 km and I'm delighted. I haven't tried other EVs, but I'm thrilled with the BYD Atto 2. It's true I don't go on long trips — I do everything in the city and nearby, about 100 to 150 km a day — and honestly it's been great in every way. When I hit 300,000 km I'll tell you again. Haha
