Price and efficiency are key factors when choosing a car – and this is often where the real differences emerge.

Mazda 2 is significantly cheaper – starting at 14,200 £ , while the Honda CR-V costs 40,200 £ . That’s a price difference of around 25,980 £.

Fuel consumption also shows a difference: the Honda CR-V uses 2.6 L/100km and is considerably more efficient than the Mazda 2 with 4.7 L/100km. The difference is about 2.1 L/100km.

The fuel economy you report in your test is, of course, nonsense. This is a plug-in, and so you're being fooled. Of course a CR‑V isn't more economical than an HR‑V. Think!

My 2026 CR‑V hybrid has had no problems. It’s quieter than my previous 2019 RAV4 hybrid. The exterior finish feels more solid across the whole vehicle. It’s less affected by crosswinds. I prefer the CR‑V’s driving. Its only drawback is that it uses just a little more fuel than the RAV4.
