Price and efficiency are often the first things buyers look at. Here it becomes clear which model has the long-term edge – whether at the pump, the plug, or in purchase price.

Mazda CX-5 is noticeably cheaper – starting at 30,000 £ , while the Toyota bZ4X costs 36,800 £ . That’s a price difference of around 6,857 £.

Mazda is much better designed. Audis are pretty ugly overall, especially the "Q" series.

I've been driving Mazdas for about ten years now without problems and with a lot of enjoyment. The last 3.5 years in a CX‑5. A really nice, smooth car that can tow quite a bit too, although I wouldn't recommend doing that with the FWD because it lacks grip on the front axle — so if you fit a towbar always choose the AWD. The only downside I can think of, after long consideration, is... nothing 🤔

Good and secure driving feel, plenty of space for passengers, great warranty, acceptable performance with the 224 hp variant, moderate fuel consumption, appealing infotainment and controls — all in all a successful car with modern technology.

I took the car for a test drive. I was impressed by the handling, the trunk, the interior space — huge compared with other cars — and the equipment. I’ve been driving Toyotas for 43 years and am impressed by their reliability. Ultimately, the warranty Toyota offers on the bZ4X completely convinced me.
