When it comes to price and running costs, the biggest differences usually appear. This is often where you see which car fits your budget better in the long run.

VW ID.7 is barely cheaper – starting at 46,400 £ , while the Mercedes EQV costs 50,700 £ . That’s a price difference of around 4,372 £.

In terms of energy consumption, the VW ID.7 is clearly more efficient: consuming 13.6 kWh/100km compared to 27.1 kWh/100km for the Mercedes EQV. That’s a difference of about 13.5 kWh/100km.

The Smart attracts with its power and charging. I ended up choosing the ID7, though. The decision was influenced by it being European and by my three years' experience with the ID4. The ID4 has been an excellent vehicle.

Range is completely wrong compared to what’s shown. In reality you can only rely on about 60% of the distance. The boot only opens for whoever has the key? That’s a massive headache for my work.
