When it comes to price and running costs, the biggest differences usually appear. This is often where you see which car fits your budget better in the long run.

MG MGS5 EV is only slightly cheaper – starting at 32,600 £ , while the KGM Torres EVX costs 33,400 £ . That’s a price difference of around 858 £.

In terms of energy consumption, the MG MGS5 EV is visibly more efficient: consuming 15.5 kWh/100km compared to 19.3 kWh/100km for the KGM Torres EVX. That’s a difference of about 3.8 kWh/100km.

As for electric range, the KGM Torres EVX offers only slightly more range – reaching up to 503 km, about 23 km more than the MG MGS5 EV.

MG Brand clearly not as it once was, Chinese owned swamping the SUV market with cheap affordable SUV's, but low reliability rating (2025)

We have recently moved from an ID3 to and MGS5. For me, the S5 feels a decent upgrade. The build quality really surprised me, especially in the cabin. the drive is also reassuringly solid, and in my opinion better than the ID3. the MGS5 is slightly quicker, but not too much that it is noticeable, and also more practical due to it's size.
Gone are my days of thinking MG was now just a cheap Chinese alternative. Go and test drive one, you'll see!
