Looking at overall running costs, both models reveal some interesting differences in everyday economy.

MG MGS5 EV is significantly cheaper – starting at 32,600 £ , while the Lucid Gravity costs 85,600 £ . That’s a price difference of around 53,066 £.

In terms of energy consumption, the MG MGS5 EV is slightly more efficient: consuming 15.5 kWh/100km compared to 18.2 kWh/100km for the Lucid Gravity. That’s a difference of about 2.7 kWh/100km.

As for electric range, the Lucid Gravity offers noticeably more range – reaching up to 748 km, about 268 km more than the MG MGS5 EV.

I have test driven and like both cars. I favour the electric button on the boot as it is much easier for my stomach muscles, after having surgery. It has tipped the balance in favour of the S5.

We have recently moved from an ID3 to and MGS5. For me, the S5 feels a decent upgrade. The build quality really surprised me, especially in the cabin. the drive is also reassuringly solid, and in my opinion better than the ID3. the MGS5 is slightly quicker, but not too much that it is noticeable, and also more practical due to it's size.
Gone are my days of thinking MG was now just a cheap Chinese alternative. Go and test drive one, you'll see!
