Costs and Efficiency:

Price and efficiency are key factors when choosing a car – and this is often where the real differences emerge.

BYD Atto 2 is clearly cheaper – starting at 30,800 £ , while the Volvo V60 costs 51,400 £ . That’s a price difference of around 20,572 £.

As for electric range, the BYD Atto 2 offers substantially more range – reaching up to 430 km, about 331 km more than the Volvo V60.

Engine and Performance:

Power, torque and acceleration are the classic benchmarks for car enthusiasts – and here, some clear differences start to show.

When it comes to engine power, the Volvo V60 offers noticeably more power – delivering 350 HP compared to 212 HP. That’s roughly 138 HP more horsepower.

I drive a V60 T6 TE e‑AWD Inscription MY 2022

Overall I'm very satisfied with it.

Positives +
+ Safety
+ Performance
+ Fuel consumption
+ Service and running costs
+ Driving feel (still has a bit of the Swedish tank about it)
+ Average consumption 5.2 l/100 km

Negatives -
- 180 km/h limiter, supposedly due to excessive centrifugal forces on the electric motor
- Thinner side windows than the predecessor
- Still very firm suspension
- 8‑speed automatic (feels like the car is always shifting)
- Volvo's own customer service has massively deteriorated in recent years (their new motto seems to be "take it or leave it")

As a long‑time Volvo customer, this will be my last Volvo — I'm not willing to go along with the (now purely electric and largely China‑produced) madness.

I've done 6,000 km and I'm delighted. I haven't tried other EVs, but I'm thrilled with the BYD Atto 2. It's true I don't go on long trips — I do everything in the city and nearby, about 100 to 150 km a day — and honestly it's been great in every way. When I hit 300,000 km I'll tell you again. Haha
