Costs and Efficiency:

Looking at overall running costs, both models reveal some interesting differences in everyday economy.

ZEEKR X is substantially cheaper – starting at 32,600 £ , while the XPeng G9 costs 51,100 £ . That’s a price difference of around 18,523 £.

In terms of energy consumption, the ZEEKR X is barely more efficient: consuming 17.4 kWh/100km compared to 18.4 kWh/100km for the XPeng G9. That’s a difference of about 1 kWh/100km.

As for electric range, the XPeng G9 offers markedly more range – reaching up to 585 km, about 170 km more than the ZEEKR X.

Engine and Performance:

Under the bonnet, it becomes clear which model is tuned for sportiness and which one takes the lead when you hit the accelerator.

I drove the Mercedes EQS and the Xpeng G9 Performance. The Xpeng is an ultra-modern, voice-controlled car with excellent build quality, a superior sound system and air suspension. I now understand why VW invested €700 million to buy a 5% stake in Xpeng. VW cars in China now run on Xpeng technology.

I've seen and driven both cars. The XPeng 9 makes more of an impression. The Zeekr 7x's interior color is limited to black — a real shame! For a nicer contrast you'll have to have it wrapped in a different color. But that's a matter of taste! Otherwise the cars are comparable, noting that the XPeng is a proper SUV while the Zeekr 7x is a crossover.
