The Tonale is bigger, more powerful, better-looking, and has a nicer, more spacious interior. I’ve driven both — the Toyota is bland and scentless, and simply a poorer drive.

VW Touran

The VW Touran is a sensible family people‑carrier that mixes practical packaging with tidy, German-built refinement, making everyday life with kids and shopping feel a lot less chaotic. It really is the Swiss Army knife. Six people on holiday at a summer cottage including all their luggage. Or how about four people in the car plus a dishwasher standing in as baggage. Or five people, two of them in child seats plus two strollers in the back. And it's also super comfortable on long trips. You sit well and it has a nice interior. Today there's nothing comparable that can replace it. Oh, and it actually does the 16–17 km/l it's rated for.
