smart #5 has a clearly perceptible advantage in terms of price – it starts at 39300 £, while the BMW i4 costs 49400 £. That’s a price difference of around 10029 £.

In terms of energy consumption, the advantage goes to the BMW i4: with 14.70 kWh per 100 km, it’s evident more efficient than the smart #5 with 18.40 kWh. That’s a difference of about 3.70 kWh.

As for range, the BMW i4 performs minimal better – achieving up to 613 km, about 23 km more than the smart #5.

Engine and Performance:

Under the bonnet, it becomes clear which model is tuned for sportiness and which one takes the lead when you hit the accelerator.

When it comes to engine power, the smart #5 has a minimal edge – offering 646 HP compared to 601 HP. That’s roughly 45 HP more horsepower.

In acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h, the BMW i4 is barely noticeable quicker – completing the sprint in 3.70 s, while the smart #5 takes 3.80 s. That’s about 0.10 s faster.

In terms of top speed, the BMW i4 performs slight better – reaching 225 km/h, while the smart #5 tops out at 210 km/h. The difference is around 15 km/h.

There’s also a difference in torque: BMW i4 pulls a bit stronger with 795 Nm compared to 710 Nm. That’s about 85 Nm difference.

Space and Everyday Use:

Whether family car or daily driver – which one offers more room, flexibility and comfort?

Both vehicles offer seating for 5 people.

In curb weight, BMW i4 is barely noticeable lighter – 2070 kg compared to 2200 kg. The difference is around 130 kg.

In terms of boot space, the smart #5 offers clearly perceptible more room – 630 L compared to 470 L. That’s a difference of about 160 L.

In maximum load capacity, the smart #5 performs a bit better – up to 1530 L, which is about 240 L more than the BMW i4.

When it comes to payload, smart #5 hardly perceptible takes the win – 502 kg compared to 480 kg. That’s a difference of about 22 kg.

Bis auf das noch hoffentlich bald verbesserte/reduzierte Gebimmel und die gruselig schlecht zu erreichende Stummschaltung der Geschwindigkeitswarnung ist das Auto wirklich der Hammer!
