Costs and Efficiency:

Price and efficiency are often the first things buyers look at. Here it becomes clear which model has the long-term edge – whether at the pump, the plug, or in purchase price.

Honda CR-V is only slightly cheaper – starting at 40,200 £ , while the VinFast VF 8 costs 41,600 £ . That’s a price difference of around 1,362 £.

As for electric range, the VinFast VF 8 offers clearly more range – reaching up to 471 km, about 393 km more than the Honda CR-V.

Engine and Performance:

Power, torque and acceleration are the classic benchmarks for car enthusiasts – and here, some clear differences start to show.

When it comes to engine power, the VinFast VF 8 offers clearly more power – delivering 408 HP compared to 184 HP. That’s roughly 224 HP more horsepower.

The fuel economy you report in your test is, of course, nonsense. This is a plug-in, and so you're being fooled. Of course a CR‑V isn't more economical than an HR‑V. Think!

My 2026 CR‑V hybrid has had no problems. It’s quieter than my previous 2019 RAV4 hybrid. The exterior finish feels more solid across the whole vehicle. It’s less affected by crosswinds. I prefer the CR‑V’s driving. Its only drawback is that it uses just a little more fuel than the RAV4.

Very comfortable, lots of space, combined fuel consumption about 6 l, reliable, simple to operate, without unnecessary gadgets, very well made, easy to drive, a car for the city and long trips.
