Costs and Efficiency:

When it comes to price and running costs, the biggest differences usually appear. This is often where you see which car fits your budget better in the long run.

XPeng G9 is marginally cheaper – starting at 51,100 £ , while the Hongqi EHS7 costs 51,400 £ . That’s a price difference of around 339 £.

In terms of energy consumption, the XPeng G9 is only slightly more efficient: consuming 18.4 kWh/100km compared to 18.5 kWh/100km for the Hongqi EHS7. That’s a difference of about 0.1 kWh/100km.

As for electric range, the Hongqi EHS7 offers very slightly more range – reaching up to 600 km, about 15 km more than the XPeng G9.

I drove the Mercedes EQS and the Xpeng G9 Performance. The Xpeng is an ultra-modern, voice-controlled car with excellent build quality, a superior sound system and air suspension. I now understand why VW invested €700 million to buy a 5% stake in Xpeng. VW cars in China now run on Xpeng technology.

I've seen and driven both cars. The XPeng 9 makes more of an impression. The Zeekr 7x's interior color is limited to black — a real shame! For a nicer contrast you'll have to have it wrapped in a different color. But that's a matter of taste! Otherwise the cars are comparable, noting that the XPeng is a proper SUV while the Zeekr 7x is a crossover.
