Costs and Efficiency:

Price and efficiency are key factors when choosing a car – and this is often where the real differences emerge.

BMW iX1 is substantially cheaper – starting at 42,300 £ , while the Mercedes S-Class costs 104,000 £ . That’s a price difference of around 61,677 £.

As for electric range, the BMW iX1 offers significantly more range – reaching up to 514 km, about 396 km more than the Mercedes S-Class.

Engine and Performance:

Under the bonnet, it becomes clear which model is tuned for sportiness and which one takes the lead when you hit the accelerator.

When it comes to engine power, the Mercedes S-Class offers substantially more power – delivering 635 HP compared to 313 HP. That’s roughly 322 HP more horsepower.

Intuitive to operate, excellent tactile feel, high seating position. More range or a larger battery would be desirable, but that would be nitpicking at the highest level.

Delightful driver's car. Light-footed, quick, silent and sporty.
If the range could be improved, it would be absolutely top.
You do have to buy a few option packs to make it fun — expect to pay around 70 grand.
