Price and efficiency are key factors when choosing a car – and this is often where the real differences emerge.

CUPRA Tavascan is somewhat cheaper – starting at 42,800 £ , while the XPeng G9 costs 51,100 £ . That’s a price difference of around 8,314 £.

In terms of energy consumption, the CUPRA Tavascan is slightly more efficient: consuming 15.4 kWh/100km compared to 18.4 kWh/100km for the XPeng G9. That’s a difference of about 3 kWh/100km.

As for electric range, the XPeng G9 offers only slightly more range – reaching up to 585 km, about 28 km more than the CUPRA Tavascan.

Both are very good. The range and energy consumption is beter in the cupra. The cupra is also more responsive and it handles beter. The Kia is more spacious and slightly beter tech wise. The Kia is more a family car.

I drove the Mercedes EQS and the Xpeng G9 Performance. The Xpeng is an ultra-modern, voice-controlled car with excellent build quality, a superior sound system and air suspension. I now understand why VW invested €700 million to buy a 5% stake in Xpeng. VW cars in China now run on Xpeng technology.

I've seen and driven both cars. The XPeng 9 makes more of an impression. The Zeekr 7x's interior color is limited to black — a real shame! For a nicer contrast you'll have to have it wrapped in a different color. But that's a matter of taste! Otherwise the cars are comparable, noting that the XPeng is a proper SUV while the Zeekr 7x is a crossover.
