Price and efficiency are key factors when choosing a car – and this is often where the real differences emerge.

DS Automobiles DS 3 is considerably cheaper – starting at 29,500 £ , while the Volvo XC90 costs 74,300 £ . That’s a price difference of around 44,803 £.

Fuel consumption also shows a difference: the Volvo XC90 uses 3.4 L/100km and is considerably more efficient than the DS Automobiles DS 3 with 5 L/100km. The difference is about 1.6 L/100km.

As for electric range, the DS Automobiles DS 3 offers clearly more range – reaching up to 400 km, about 331 km more than the Volvo XC90.

I won a Dacia Duster in a lottery. Sold it after six months. Just cheap junk. Then the XC90/1 and now the XC90/2. There are galaxies between them. A Volvo is a Volvo when it comes to reliability, durability and luxury.

I drive both cars. The XC90’s boot is — contrary to the figures posted here — noticeably larger than the GLC’s when carrying five people. Overall the XC90 is clearly the more comfortable and, above all, the more stable — and therefore the safer — car.
