Looking at overall running costs, both models reveal some interesting differences in everyday economy.

Toyota Yaris is clearly cheaper – starting at 21,900 £ , while the Volvo XC60 costs 58,300 £ . That’s a price difference of around 36,420 £.

Fuel consumption also shows a difference: the Volvo XC60 uses 1.6 L/100km and is significantly more efficient than the Toyota Yaris with 3.8 L/100km. The difference is about 2.2 L/100km.

Engine and Performance:

Under the bonnet, it becomes clear which model is tuned for sportiness and which one takes the lead when you hit the accelerator.

My Toyota Yaris Hybrid is perfect: small footprint yet a reasonable boot, fuel consumption between 3.2 and 3.9 l/100 km, very comfortable even for long distances. You can fault it for its mediocre uphill acceleration on the motorway. But with speed limits of 70 to 130 km/h, it still remains too powerful.
