Looking at overall running costs, both models reveal some interesting differences in everyday economy.

MG MGS5 EV has a barely noticeable advantage in terms of price – it starts at 32600 £, while the VW ID.4 costs 34600 £. That’s a price difference of around 2010 £.

In terms of energy consumption, the advantage goes to the MG MGS5 EV: with 15.50 kWh per 100 km, it’s hardly perceptible more efficient than the VW ID.4 with 15.60 kWh. That’s a difference of about 0.10 kWh.

We have recently moved from an ID3 to and MGS5. For me, the S5 feels a decent upgrade. The build quality really surprised me, especially in the cabin. the drive is also reassuringly solid, and in my opinion better than the ID3. the MGS5 is slightly quicker, but not too much that it is noticeable, and also more practical due to it's size.
Gone are my days of thinking MG was now just a cheap Chinese alternative. Go and test drive one, you'll see!
