Looking at overall running costs, both models reveal some interesting differences in everyday economy.

VW ID.4 is substantially cheaper – starting at 34,800 £ , while the Audi Q8 costs 77,300 £ . That’s a price difference of around 42,532 £.

As for electric range, the VW ID.4 offers significantly more range – reaching up to 570 km, about 490 km more than the Audi Q8.

Power, torque and acceleration are the classic benchmarks for car enthusiasts – and here, some clear differences start to show.

It's a technologically advanced car, but somewhere along the way VW forgot the pleasant cabin and the comfortable ride. It IS a VW — and that redeems it.

The ID.4 is a bit pricey, but very pleasant to drive. Its winter range could be better — then again, that's a problem all EVs are facing right now.

An ID.4 with 340 hp is not comparable to the Aiways U5! The U5 only has 204 hp! The ID.4’s boot is too small, rear legroom is too tight, no frunk, and it’s a bit confusing…
