Looking at overall running costs, both models reveal some interesting differences in everyday economy.

MG ZS is clearly cheaper – starting at 18,000 £ , while the XPeng X9 costs 66,500 £ . That’s a price difference of around 48,523 £.

Engine and Performance:

Under the bonnet, it becomes clear which model is tuned for sportiness and which one takes the lead when you hit the accelerator.

When it comes to engine power, the XPeng X9 offers considerably more power – delivering 503 HP compared to 197 HP. That’s roughly 306 HP more horsepower.

When accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h, the XPeng X9 is substantially quicker – completing the sprint in 5.9 s, while the MG ZS takes 8.7 s. That’s about 2.8 s quicker.

With all the features it offers at that price, the MG has no competition. A BMW X1 of similar dimensions with a few extra upgrades costs more than twice as much, and considering that 40% of MG’s spare parts come from Germany (Bosch, Continental, etc.), I’d go for the MG ZS Hybrid without a second thought.
