Price and efficiency are key factors when choosing a car – and this is often where the real differences emerge.

Hongqi EH7 is substantially cheaper – starting at 49,700 £ , while the Volvo XC90 costs 74,300 £ . That’s a price difference of around 24,595 £.

As for electric range, the Hongqi EH7 offers significantly more range – reaching up to 655 km, about 586 km more than the Volvo XC90.

Under the bonnet, it becomes clear which model is tuned for sportiness and which one takes the lead when you hit the accelerator.

I won a Dacia Duster in a lottery. Sold it after six months. Just cheap junk. Then the XC90/1 and now the XC90/2. There are galaxies between them. A Volvo is a Volvo when it comes to reliability, durability and luxury.

I drive both cars. The XC90’s boot is — contrary to the figures posted here — noticeably larger than the GLC’s when carrying five people. Overall the XC90 is clearly the more comfortable and, above all, the more stable — and therefore the safer — car.
