Price and efficiency are key factors when choosing a car – and this is often where the real differences emerge.

Maxus Deliver 3 is only slightly cheaper – starting at 33,600 £ , while the VW ID.4 costs 34,800 £ . That’s a price difference of around 1,133 £.

In terms of energy consumption, the VW ID.4 is clearly more efficient: consuming 15.4 kWh/100km compared to 20.2 kWh/100km for the Maxus Deliver 3. That’s a difference of about 4.8 kWh/100km.

As for electric range, the VW ID.4 offers substantially more range – reaching up to 570 km, about 301 km more than the Maxus Deliver 3.

The ID.4 is a bit pricey, but very pleasant to drive. Its winter range could be better — then again, that's a problem all EVs are facing right now.

An ID.4 with 340 hp is not comparable to the Aiways U5! The U5 only has 204 hp! The ID.4’s boot is too small, rear legroom is too tight, no frunk, and it’s a bit confusing…

1) I trust the electric technology of the MAXUS more than the hybrid mechanics of the PEUGEOT.
2) If you compare the electric version of the Peugeot with the MAXUS, the Maxus clearly wins. It weighs 400 kg less than the PEUGEOT — which translates to carrying over 900 kg more — and it wears less, even down to the brake pads, than the Peugeot.
I'm thinking of buying a used MAXUS (the short one). I saw this week that there are loads of them four years old with under 30,000 km for €14,000, and they still have three or four years of manufacturer warranty left.
